Encryption. Data in transit from local Datto devices to the Datto Cloud is encrypted using AES-256 bit encryption. Certain Datto products have an optional local encryption feature that enables customers to encrypt backed up data on their local devices.
How do I decrypt a Datto device?
Resolution
- Access the Datto appliance.
- Navigate to the Protect page. Sealed agents will display the notification shown in Figure 1. Figure 1: Sealed backup agent.
- Select the Decrypt now box for the impacted agent, and enter its encryption passphrase when prompted.
- Attempt the backup again.
What is protected storage Datto?
Protected Storage refers to the total storage used on the protected machine for all the volumes that are being backed up by this appliance. Protected Volumes identifies which hard drives you are protecting with the Datto device.
