2 Answers. Pure Perforce, natively no. It supports distributed server : you have basically one repository mirrored on different physical server. But this is not what is usually called DVCS.
What is meant by distributed version control?
A distributed version control system (DVCS) is a type of version control where the complete codebase — including its full version history — is mirrored on every developer's computer. It's abbreviated DVCS. Changes to files are tracked between computers.
How is Perforce different than Git?
One of the key differences between these two systems is that Git is based on a distributed, decentralised model, while Perforce is centralised. Both have their advantages, of course, but with a centralised system, there's no way to decentralise it later. A distributed VCS, on the other hand, can be centralised.
