Methodists say the Apostles' Creed because it expresses the fundamental beliefs of Methodism and shows unity with the rest of the Christian church. Traditionally, Methodist churches say the creed during baptism to provide context for the community of faith to which the infant now belongs.
Does the Methodist Church have a creed?
Our church doesn't believe in any creed but Jesus. ... In the Nicene Creed after proclaiming faith in God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, worshippers say, "We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.” The term catholic, when written in lowercase letters, does not refer to a particular denomination.
What religions have creeds?
Creeds in the full sense are therefore found only in so-called universal religions, such as Zoroastrianism, Buddhism, Judaism, Christianity, Islam, and certain modern Hindu movements (e.g., Brahmo Samaj).
