When Is Thyme Grown?

When Is Thyme Grown?

While thyme is usually harvested in the summer months, we have harvested ours well into late fall! Thyme can grow in the ground or in a container. Either is left outside in wintertime. New leaves will emerge within the early spring.

What season is thyme grown in?

Climate: thyme grows well in all climates and areas. Soil: a free-draining garden soil enriched with compost and well-aged manure. Position: full sun. Flowering and fruiting: small white or pink flowers are produced in spring or early summer.

Does thyme grow all year round?

Harvesting. As thyme is evergreen, the leaves can be harvested all year round, but the soft new growth in summer has the best flavour.
