Has Been Telex Release?

A Telex release is the industry term for the release of cargo at one port when the original bill of lading has been surrendered at another. Although this is still referred to as a Telex release, today the release is almost always made by e-mail. Telex release is a normal part of liner shipping.

How long does it take to get a telex release?

Sometimes, it can take 4-7 days. In addition, the consignee needs to sign and stamp these documents and courier them to their freight forwarder/NVOCC. This can take another 1-2 days.

How do I check my telex release?

Shippers can usually obtain a telex release by contacting the carrier that issued the original bill of lading, although some carriers may require fees or a letter of indemnity before issuing a telex release.
