The symptoms of blepharitis are irritation on the edge of the eyelid or sometimes itching of the edge of the eyelid. You can also have redness of the eyelid or of the eye. Patients with blepharitis also have gritty sore tired eyes and need to blink frequently.
Does sleeping help blepharitis?
Most patients find that the symptoms of blepharitis are considerably worse after sleep, as the eyelids are closed for an extended period which allows oil and debris time to accumulate along the edge of the eyelids.

Photophobia typically causes a need to squint or close the eyes, and headache, nausea, or other symptoms may be associated with photophobia. Symptoms may be worse with bright light.
