Again there is no standard. In general, when your Ethernet port has a light, there should be at least one blinking or one steady light when connected. If the light isn't steady or blinking, you're not connected or the light is broken.
How do I know if my Ethernet port is working?
Most ethernet ports will have green lights next to them when the cable connects and there is good signal strength. If you plug in the cord and see yellow or red lights, there is a problem. If the light doesn't light up at all, the port may be broken or the cord is bad.
What do the lights on Ethernet mean?
On the Ethernet port: When the green LED is on, there is 10/100/100Mbps traffic. When the orange LED is on, the port is being connected, but no data is being transferred. When the orange LED is blinking, data is being transferred. When the orange LED is off, no data is being transferred.
