Do Yellowstone Gates Close at Night?

Yellowstone is open 365 days per year, 24 hours per day. However, only the road from the North Entrance (Gardiner, MT) to the Northeast Entrance (Cooke City, MT) stays open year-round. If the roads are open, you can enter and exit the park as you please, even if the entrance stations aren't open and collecting fees.

Can you enter Yellowstone at night?

Yes, you can drive the park 24/7. You need to be careful as there are often big dark animals on the roadside or in the road. The posted speed most areas in the park is 45, I go slower if I am driving at night. You will pay one entry fee and that will allow you to re-enter for 7 days.

Can you be in Yellowstone after dark?

The immersive program is unique to the Yellowstone Forever Institute because it's “upside down.” Your guided instruction begins later in the day, leaving you with ample extra time to cross country ski, snowshoe, wildlife watch, and enjoy the beauty of the Lamar Valley with a cup of coffee!
