Spry and Crisco are basically identical in that they are both whipped hydrogenated vegetable oil. They are interchangeable.

What can I use instead of spry?

Use any other shortening, Spry is just a brand name (not being produced any more). Years ago I also used spry. But now I use Crisco and it works exactly the same!
