Are Lab Pointers or Flushers?

Flushers consist of retrievers and Spaniels (although some Spaniels are also pointers). Two of the more common flushing breeds are the energetic Springer Spaniel and ever-popular Labrador retriever. Spaniels can make excellent duck dogs, and Labs, of course, love water.

Are Labs good flushing dogs?

Labradors are called Labrador retrievers because retrieving was the job they were designed to do. Certainly, some of those attributes that served a retriever well also suited an upland flusher, and therefore the transition from wetland to upland worked well for many a Labrador.

Can labs hunt chukar?

You should be just fine. I know several good chukar hunters with labs/flushers as their dogs. The real downside is you have to check out every likely spot on the mountain along with the lab, assuming it stays in appropriate range.
