In some menstrual cycles, an egg does not mature, and a woman does not ovulate. This is known as anovulation. Anovulation may cause irregular menstrual cycles or no periods at all.
What are the signs of a woman not ovulating?
The main symptom of infertility is the inability to get pregnant. A menstrual cycle that's too long (35 days or more), too short (less than 21 days), irregular or absent can mean that you're not ovulating. There might be no other signs or symptoms.
Does everyone get ovulation?
(For most people, the ovaries take turns ovulating. Each ovary releases an egg every other month.) So if the ovary on the right side is releasing the egg, that's where you'll feel the pain.
