When Was Kedron Settled?

Missionaries who settled in the Nundah area in 1838. The missionaries were granted approximately five hundred acres of land along Kedron Brook. Alexander Barron and family (1856) Judge Alfred Lutwyche purchased 50 acres and built his residence, naming it Kedron Lodge (1862)

When was Kedron founded?

In 1887, Michael Gallagher and family established the Kedron Tannery, which was very successful and became known Australia-wide. Paul Maggs and family settled in the 1860s. In 1889 he built the Edinburgh Tannery alongside Kedron Creek at the end of Nundah Street.

How old is Kedron?

Kedron was established in 1956; the school derives its name from a valley mentioned in the Bible and located in Palestine. Over the years, enrolment has ranged from 274 students in 1956 to 1700 in 1976. Since its inception, almost 20 000 students have attended Kedron.
