Chinese (Ideograms)
Chinese, and to an extent Japanese and Korean, use logograms. They have evolved from individual pictograms, and phonetic signs that have been synthesized. They are so far the oldest continuously used writing system in the world since this dates back to ancient times.
What languages use ideograms?
The term "ideogram" is often used to describe symbols of writing systems such as Egyptian hieroglyphs, Sumerian cuneiform and Chinese characters.
Who used ideogram?
Egyptian hieroglyphs are a writing system used by the Ancient Egyptians, that contained a combination of logographic, alphabetic, and ideographic elements. Hieroglyphs emerged from the preliterate artistic traditions of Egypt.
