When you restore files deleted from the Recycle Bin, they will appear in their original location in the folder from which they were deleted. The “Original Location” column in the Recycle Bin shows this location.
Where do I find my restored files?
Restoring files from the Recycle Bin
- Double-click the Recycle Bin icon on the desktop.
- The files currently in the Recycle Bin will be displayed. Right-click the file you want to restore.
- Then, click the Restore this item (see the image below).
- The file will be restored to its original folder.
Where do restored files go Microsoft?
They are restored to their original location. So if you deleted them from the Desktop, File Explorer, C: drive, Public Folder, they will be restored there. Look under Original Location to find out where the file was originally stored.
