The Visitors Center is open 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekends, year round, except for New Years Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Hands-on exhibits, dioramas and other displays may be seen in the Center.
Can you swim in Merrill Creek Reservoir?
But don't look for Merrill Creek to be like Spruce Run or Round Valley reservoirs to the east or Beltzville to the west. Passive has been the buzz word to describe the uses planned for the facility. There won't be any swimming beaches, no high-powered motorboats pulling water skiers, no picnic groves.
What kind of fish are in Merrill Creek Reservoir?
The reservoir is best known for its brown trout fishing. Other fish in the reservoir include walleye, yellow perch, small and largemouth bass, chain pickerel, crappie, catfish, sunfish, carp, rainbow trout, brook trout and lake trout.
