In the Hebrew Bible, before the Babylonian Exile, the month is called Ethanim (Hebrew: אֵתָנִים – 1 Kings 8:2). In the Babylonian calendar the month is known as Araḫ Tišritum, "Month of Beginning" (of the second half-year).
