Many toad species live throughout the United States. Toads are found on every continent, excluding Antarctica. Adult toads generally prefer moist, open habitats like fields and grasslands.

Where do toads live during the day?

Some are brightly colored, like oriental fire-bellied toads, and some are dull, like Fowler's toads, cane toads, natterjack toads, and western toads. Cane toads are giant neotropical toads or marine toads. They are the largest, terrestrial true toad (Bufo).

Where can I find Toadspawn?

Frogspawn and toadspawn usually starts to appear in February and March. Look just below the surface of the water in ponds and streams, especially amongst reeds by the water's edge.
