Does Capillus Actually Work?

A company called Capillus claims that its low-level laser caps can effectively reverse hair loss while simultaneously increasing hair counts in just six minutes a day. There's very little evidence to support the efficacy of Capillus caps, and consumer reviews are less than stellar.

Do laser caps really regrow hair?

You may have heard that laser combs, brushes, hoods, and caps can help halt hair loss. The theory is that when hair follicles absorb laser light at a certain level, it stimulates hair to grow. But there's not enough evidence that any of these devices restore hair or prevent balding.

Does Capillus regrow hair?

Capillus laser therapy may help restore viable follicles on the scalp including thin or vellus hairs. No treatment can regrow new hair where it is not viable, so while Capillus will provide growth of thicker, healthier hair that has begun to thin due to androgenic alopecia, it will not grow new hair from bald areas.
