When to Use Approximately?

When to Use Approximately?

We use “approximately” for numbers, for quantity, estimates again. For example, “Approximately, 50 people attended the event,” approximately.

How do you use approximately in a sentence?

1 The area is approximately 100 square kilometers. 2 There are approximately 12 million migrants with their dependants living in the EU countries. 3 The length of the bay is approximately 200 miles. 4 The plane will be landing in approximately 20 minutes.

What is difference between approximately and about?

Both are correct. I'd say the main difference between the two words, though, is "approximately" can ONLY be used in this kind of context (to mean "not exact / precise"). "About" has a much wider range of usage: "I'm about to leave", "It's about time you showed up!", "What are you talking about?" and etc.
