Promazine is a phenothiazine used to manage schizophrenia. A phenothiazine with actions similar to chlorpromazine but with less antipsychotic activity. It is primarily used in short-term treatment of disturbed behavior and as an antiemetic. It is currently not approved for use in the United States.

Promethazine oral tablet is used to treat several conditions, such as allergies, motion sickness, nausea and vomiting, anxiety before surgery, and pain after surgery. It's also used as a sleep aid, including before and after surgery.
