Crows will attack humans or try to hurt them if they feel threatened by their presence in any way. You can avoid the attack by steering clear of the nesting area, disposing of garbage neatly, dressing differently, carrying an umbrella or hats, and changing your route.
Are crows dangerous to humans?
Crows are incredibly territorial during May and June. They are known to dive and strike humans not just once, but repetitively until the human in question has moved a good distance away from the nest. These attacks are very common in Vancouver; we have even had attacks on staff in our Science Park.
Do crows come close to humans?
Crows and humans have had an arguably symbiotic relationship with us for a while, and crow researchers have found many instances of cultural coevolution between us. Even though our histories are closely intertwined, crows are still wild animals and can be skittish and aloof even in the best of circumstances.
