An adult caution will be removed after 6 years have elapsed since the date of the caution and if it does not appear on the list of specified offences. There is no limit to the amount of cautions that can be filtered.
Are cautions automatically filtered?
Information that is filtered will be removed from a DBS check automatically at the point you apply for one. However, cautions and convictions do not get 'removed' or 'wiped' from the Police National Computer (PNC).
How long do Cautions stay on your record?
Caution. If you admit an offence, the police can give you a caution. A caution is not a conviction. A caution is a warning which stays on your record for six years if you're an adult, or two years if you're under 18.
