The main problem why there are few Tagalogs who learn Bisaya is because it is not formally taught in schools, and what's worst, there are hardly any lesson available even in informal lectures. Another thing is that Tagalog don't learn the language because they believe it is not necessary.
Is Bisaya a dying language?
“The Visayan language is dying because there are only a few people who proudly speak an unadulterated version of it. Some people deduce that if they speak pure Bisaya, they are socially and academically inferior to the people who speak Filipino/Tagalog. More so to the people who speak English,” he said.
Is Bisaya different from Tagalog?
Yes there is! Bisaya is a dialect that is spoken in a lot of the Visayas and Mindanao islands. On the other hand, Tagalog is a langauage that is spoken in the Luzon islands.
