Bantam Eggs
Many bantam chickens are excellent layers, although their eggs are, predictably, small. One friend prefers her bantam eggs to large fowl eggs.
Do bantams lay fewer eggs?
Of course the bantam cochins will lay smaller eggs. (They have smaller chicks, too!) Regardless, bantam chicken eggs taste the same as the eggs of larger chickens, and certainly if your birds have access to pasture, bantam or large fowl, the eggs will taste MUCH better than what you can get in a grocery store.
Are bantam cochins good egg layers?
Bantam cochin chickens make wonderful additions to your backyard flock. They're very friendly, and lay tiny brown eggs. They're not the best layers – you can expect about 200 eggs per year.
