Where Is Phthia Located?

Phthia (Greek: Φθίη Transliterations:, Modern: Fthii, Ancient: Phthiē) is an ancient region of Greece, at the southern part of Magnesia, on the both sides of Othrys mountain. It was the homeland of the Myrmidones tribe, who took part in the Trojan War under Achilles.

Was Phthia a real place?

The city of Phthia itself has not yet been unearthed by archaeologists, but it was home to the Myrmidons of ancient Greece who took part in the Trojan War under the leadership of Achilles. Interestingly, there is a Pelasgia immediately to the south, suggesting a pre-Mycenaean native Greek settlement.

Where is Patroclus from?

Patroclus was the son of Menoetius in Greek mythology, and best friend of the hero Achilles. His father was one of the Argonauts, while many different women have been mentioned as Patroclus' mother.
