As enum types are handled as integral types
integral types
A long integer can represent a whole integer whose range is greater than or equal to that of a standard integer on the same machine. In C, it is denoted by long. It is required to be at least 32 bits, and may or may not be larger than a standard integer.
, they are stored in the stack and registers as their respective data types: a standard enum is usually implemented as an int32; this means that the compiler will handle your enum as a synonym of int32 (for the sake of simplicity, I left out several details).
