Trail closed
Like most state park trails in Big Sur, the Ewoldsen Trail is closed. It was closed after a major wildfire in 2008, reopened in 2014, and closed again after another wildfire in 2016.
Why is Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park closed?
UPDATE (September 26, 2021) - Large portions of this park remain closed due hazardous conditions caused by the Dolan Fire and subsequent debris flows. The parking lot, restroom, Waterfall Overlook Trail, Tan Bark Trail, Tin House Trail and Partington Cove Trail are open.
