Meropenem monotherapy has proved efficacious in the treatment of a variety of infections in adults and children and can be administered by bolus IV injection, as well as IV infusion and intramuscular (IM) injection.
How is meropenem administered?
Meropenem is usually given by intravenous infusion over approximately 15 to 30 minutes (see section 6.2, 6.3 and 6.6). Alternatively, doses up to 1 g can be given as an intravenous bolus injection over approximately 5 minutes.
How do you use meropenem injection?
MERREM IV should be administered by intravenous infusion over approximately 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Doses of 1 gram may also be administered as an intravenous bolus injection (5 mL to 20 mL) over approximately 3 minutes to 5 minutes.
