Where Did Sapiens Live?

Homo sapiens evolved in Africa from Homo heidelbergensis. They co-existed for a long time in Europe and the Middle East with the Neanderthals, and possibly with Homo erectus in Asia and Homo floresiensis in Indonesia, but are now the only surviving human species.

Where did Homosapien first live?

It goes something like this: Around 200,000 years ago, in East Africa — near modern-day Ethiopia — the first Homo sapiens diverged from an ancestral species, perhaps Homo erectus. From there, we spread, in a linear manner over millennia north into Europe, and then through the rest of the world.

Where was the first human found?

Most have been found in Eastern Africa. In 2003 a skull dug up near a village in Eastern Ethiopia was dated back to some 160,000 years ago. Its anatomical features — a relatively large brain, thin-walled skull and flat forehead — made it the oldest modern human ever discovered.
