It's too wide spread a technology, and the amount of re-education required among people working with webapps and websites to switch technology completely would be massive and very costly. HTML will however, like any other technology, evolve.

Web development is simpler using a single, unified, XML-based language rather than multiple languages like HTML/CSS/JS. As style and layout are now automatic, there is no need to use CSS with the new language. We also would like to eliminate the need to use JavaScript.
