Can a Snake Like You?

Can a Snake Like You?

Snakes are able to recognise and distinguish between humans and may recognise the scent of their owner as familiar or positive with time. However, snakes are unable to view humans as companions so cannot form a bond with their owner like other pets can.

How do you know if a snake likes you?

You can know that your snake likes you if they are generally calm and unhurried around you, eat and explore readily in your presence, comes to the front of the enclosure when you are around, and is calm and relaxed when you handle it.

Do snakes form bonds with owners?

Snakes may not be as cuddly or openly affectionate as some other pets like cats, dogs, and even birds and rodents. However, that doesn't mean that they aren't capable of forming some kind of bond with their owner.
