General employment probity checks help employers decide if an individual will be a suitable employee or volunteer. These checks are role-specific and valid for three years but do not include a copy of the individual's criminal conviction history that is assessed.
What does a probity check involve?
A probity check investigates the background of a company, organisation or person to see if they're fit to hold the licence or authorisation they have applied for. It investigates the previous history and activities of organisations and individuals including financial records and legal matters.
Is a financial probity check a credit check?
A Financial Probity check does not constitute a credit check. It is a check of publically available information. Any anomalies are reviewed on a case by case basis.
