The American Flag should be hoisted first and lowered last, when flown with other flags on adjacent staffs. When the American Flag is displayed against a wall with another flag, it should be on the (flag's own) right with its staff in front of the other flag.
How do you display multiple flags?
The basic rules for displaying multiple flags in the United States take the following order from left to right:
- National flags first, followed by.
- State flags, followed by.
- Territory flags, followed by.
- Military flags.
How much space do you need between two flags?
The general rule of thumb here is to separate the flags by at least 6 inches. Depending on the flag size, you may want to have more space between the flags.
