How Big Is Kidlington?

Kidlington is a large village and civil parish in Oxfordshire, England, between the River Cherwell and the Oxford Canal, 5 miles (8 km) north of Oxford and 7½ miles (12 km) south-west of Bicester. It remains officially a village despite its size. The 2011 Census put the parish population at 13,723.

Why is Kidlington a village?

Families in Kidlington were outraged and voted overwhelmingly in a referendum to keep their village status. ... When the result was announced in February 1988, 2,836 votes had been cast in favour of staying a village, with just 563 against. Mr Ilott took the brunt of the criticism.

Is Kidlington safe?

Kidlington is a strange mix of extremely expensive and posh houses, such as those along Mill Street, and nasty 70s housing estate hell. On the whole it's a pretty safe town, but you might want to avoid some of the rougher pubs on a Friday or Saturday night.
