In Japan, there is a new sibling taking shape – the long-rumored RX-9. For the moment it is all happening behind curtains at Mazda, this RX-9 is the slated successor to the first two popular sports cars in the segment the RX-7 and RX-8 and the truth is, it will be arriving at a different world.

Will Mazda make another Rx?

Time and again, Mazda fans and enthusiasts alike have been wishing for the return of the RX-7 or specifically the rotary engine. This has officially been confirmed for a return during the first half of 2022, albeit as a range-extender for the Mazda MX-30.

How much does a Mazda RX-9 cost?

Those figures would make the RX-9 the most powerful production car ever produced by Mazda, but all this power will seemingly come at a cost. Estimations sit at around $80,000 (£60,500) which would make it nearly three-times the price of an RX-8.
