UC Davis offers you an option that, by design, allows for such exploration: You can apply for an undeclared major in three of our colleges and decide later what you want to do.
Does UC Davis admit by major?
At UC Davis, you apply to a major. If you're accepted, we'll place you in the corresponding college. The only exception to this is that if you decide to enroll as “undeclared.” UC Davis will then ask you to select a college.
Does applying undeclared hurt your chances UC?
If not, does being undeclared or undecided hurt my admissions chances? The short answer to both questions is YES, your declared major or the specific program to which you are applying can have a significant impact on your acceptance chances.
