Why does my FaceTime call hang up?

Check your internet connection

When you have a poor, or unreliable connection, FaceTime may not be able to work properly. If FaceTime keeps having this problem, your Internet (or the person's, you want to communicate via FaceTime) connection may be stopping intermittently. This can also cause FaceTime calls to fail.
