How to Find Planimeter?

Planimeter is used to compute the area of given plan of any shape. In the first step anchor point is to be fixed at one point. If the given plan area is small, then anchor point is placed outside the plan. Similarly, if the given plan area is large then it is placed inside the plan.

What is the formula of planimeter?

Explanation: From the formula of area by planimeter, Δ = M (F-I±10N+C) the variable M represents multiplier constant which is required for further calculations. Explanation: The value of multiplier constant is given as M= A/nꞌ in which, A = known area, nꞌ = change in wheel readings.

How does a planimeter work?

As the planimeter moves, the wheel partially rolls and partially slides. Motion of the segment in the direction of the vector N causes the wheel to roll, which is recorded on a scale attached to the wheel. The motion of the segment along its length causes the wheel to slide, and this motion is not recorded.
