Which Way Do Ailerons Move?

Ailerons are mounted on the trailing edge of each wing near the wingtips and move in opposite directions. When the pilot moves the stick left, or turns the wheel counter-clockwise, the left aileron goes up and the right aileron goes down.

Do ailerons move opposite direction?

The ailerons are attached to the outboard trailing edge of each wing and move in the opposite direction from each other.

What movement does the aileron control?

Ailerons are used in pairs to control the aircraft in roll (or movement around the aircraft's longitudinal axis), which normally results in a change in flight path due to the tilting of the lift vector. Movement around this axis is called 'rolling' or 'banking'.
