A liquid diet is a diet that mostly consists of liquids, or soft foods that melt at room temperature.
What do you eat on a liquid diet?
What You Can Eat and Drink
- Water.
- Fruit juices, including nectars and juices with pulp.
- Butter, margarine, oil, cream, custard, and pudding.
- Plain ice cream, frozen yogurt, and sherbet.
- Fruit ices and popsicles.
- Sugar, honey, and syrups.
- Soup broth (bouillon, consommé, and strained cream soups, but no solids)
What is a regular liquid diet?
A full liquid diet means that a person eats no solid foods and only consumes liquids, such as soups, juices, and smoothies. For most people, it is a temporary measure and not a long-term nutritional strategy. Full liquids are different than clear liquids.
