Pickling vinegar contains more acetic acid than white vinegar, which means it can kill weeds more effectively. Because all types of vinegar are nonselective, any solution has the potential to harm other plants, including grass and trees.
What kind of vinegar kills grass?
For killing household weeds in the lawn or garden, we recommend using household white vinegar, as it will be acidic enough to kill the weeds without aimlessly killing the good grass and plants that are nearby.
Does regular vinegar kill grass?
Although you may have heard household vinegar recommended as a homemade weedkiller, only concentrated vinegar will destroy weeds. The regular vinegar in your kitchen contains about 5 percent acetic acid. A homemade household vinegar spray might cause some temporary harm to weeds and grass, but the acid isn't powerful.
