The Quarter Pounder is a hamburger sold by international fast food chain McDonald's, so named for containing a patty with a precooked weight of a quarter of a pound. It was first introduced in 1971.
What is half pounder burger?
The burger is made with a combination of two cuts of beef – brisket and chuck - both of which are known for their tender texture and bold beefy flavour, producing a mouth watering burger like no other.
Why don't they call it a half pounder?
It's because the Double Quarter Pounder has not one, but TWO quarter-pound, all-beef patties, for when a single Quarter Pounder just won't cut it.
