Will Provera stop your period?
Does medroxyprogesterone (Provera) stop periods? Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) causes the lining of your uterus to thin if you take it every day, so it's possible for it to cause lighter periods. Since you're only taking it for about 10 days at a time, it doesn't usually stop your periods completely.
Should I bleed while taking Provera?
If you have any irregular spotting or bleeding during treatment this is normal and nothing to worry about. If you do not have a period after you finish a course of Provera, check with your doctor in case you are pregnant. Take the tablet as soon as you remember, and carry on taking the tablets at the normal times.
