Pseudogynecomastia is defined as fatty deposits in the pectoral region of a male as a consequence of obesity and/or excessive weight gain. With gynecomastia, a hard lump can be palpated or felt under the nipple/areola region. The lump typically is firmer than fat.
How do you know if I have pseudogynecomastia?
Pseudogynecomastia Symptoms
- A bilateral breast-like appearance to chest.
- Only fatty tissue beneath the chest — nothing will feel firm.
Does pseudogynecomastia go away?
It's common in newborn baby boys and during puberty, because of normal hormonal changes that occur at these times, and usually goes away on its own.
