Cancerous lumps are usually hard, painless and immovable. Cysts or fatty lumps etc are usually slightly softer to touch and can move around. This has come from experience - I found a rubbery, painless moveable lump in my neck which was not cancer.
Is a cancerous lump movable?
Breast cancer lumps tend to be immoveable. They're usually hard, have irregular edges, and are painless. But that's not always the case. Some breast cancer lumps are painful and they can sometimes be soft, round, or moveable.
Is a cancerous lymph node movable?
A soft, tender and moveable lymph node usually indicates that it's fighting infection (not surprising at this time of the year). Nodes containing a spread of cancer are usually hard, painless and don't move.
