Donate the encyclopedia set to Goodwill or The Salvation Army. They take donations of all kinds, including books and even encyclopedia sets.

Where do you get rid of encyclopedias?

Try boxing up your encyclopedias and dropping them off at a local used bookstore. If you're looking for a more purposeful use for your old encyclopedias, try local schools and libraries.

What items does Salvation Army not take?

You can donate books, but not magazines or encyclopedias. Collectibles, jewelry, small antiques and linens such as sheets, blankets, pillowcases and towels are welcome. The organization accepts other household items, such as dishes and pans, but they must be clean and free of damage.
