The average course of physiotherapy treatment (an initial assessment and 4 to 5 further treatment sessions) is £240 to £300. Average appointment costs are £50 to £60. Individual discounts may be available based on your gym membership, for example.
How much does physiotherapy cost the NHS?
Physiotherapy is available free of charge on the NHS throughout the UK. Depending on where you live, you may be able to self-refer (see below) or you may need to visit your GP or consultant first. After discussing your symptoms with your doctor, they may then refer you to a physiotherapist.
How do you get 5 free physio sessions?
You are entitled to 5x 'Allied Health' consultations per calendar year. If your GP has ruled that you have a chronic condition (remember, that's greater than 3 months duration). This could be used for 5x physiotherapy visits, or 3x physiotherapy and 2x podiatry visits in the calendar year.
