Electroretinography is a test to measure the electrical response of the eye's light-sensitive cells, called rods and cones. These cells are part of the retina (the back part of the eye).
What is the purpose of electroretinography?
An electroretinography (ERG) test, also known as an electroretinogram, measures the electrical response of the light-sensitive cells in your eyes. These cells are known as rods and cones. They form part of the back of the eye known as the retina.
What does diopsys test for?
A Diopsys® ERG vision test is a painless, safe, non-invasive way for your eye care provider to objectively measure the function of your retina – the light-sensitive layer at the back of your eye. When light from an image enters your eye, it is turned into electrical energy by cells in the retina.
