A ripe abiu has a unique taste. The creamy white flesh is extremely delicate, lightly sweet, with a strong hint of caramel and vanilla. Some people describe the flavor as similar to a crème caramel flan!

These quickly grow into larger fruit that is good to pick once the skin turns bright yellow. Be sure to let it sit on your kitchen counter for a day or two after picking to let it fully ripen.
How is the abiu fruit stored?
Abiu fruit needs to be stored in cool favorable conditions to stay well for a long time.
