A direct sequel eventually came in the form of the video game Scarface: The World is Yours, which imagines a follow-up where Tony Montana survived the events of the film.

Why wasnt there a Scarface 2?

Tony Montana died in "Scarface," so it wouldn't have been logical to bring the character back for another violent journey through the criminal underworld. While a sequel with an undead iteration of Tony could have been entertaining, the plan was to have the crime lord's offspring continue his legacy in a second film.

Will there ever be another Scarface movie?

It's unclear yet when Guadagnino will get to work on his Scarface remake, but with the 40th anniversary of De Palma's film coming up in 2023, Universal will likely want him to get started soon. Guadagnino's newest project, the HBO limited series We Are Who We Are, premieres on September 14, 2020.
